Knowles was born on January 23, 1982, to mother Linda Drain and father Lonnie Knowles. she started studying at Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas and later on, attended Southern Methodist University to study journalism.
Besides her study, she started working as a writer and later became an editor of the university newspaper, The Daily Campus. In 2004 she graduated with a journalism degree from Southern Methodist University.
After completing Degree she decided to follow her parent's guidance and started studying LSAT. While she was doing LSAT she was offered by Channel One News in Los Angeles then decided to pursue her career in journalism.
