Previous Marriages

Sam Asghari

Britney and Sam Asghari first crossed paths back in October 2016. Their connection blossomed when he appeared as her love interest in her "Slumber Party" music video.

Britney and Sam took their relationship to the next level and got engaged on September 12, 2021. The couple exchanged vows on June 9, 2022, in a beautiful ceremony held in Los Angeles.

However, their marital bliss was short-lived as the couple decided to separate in August 2023. Despite Asghari filing for divorce, they have not finalized their legal separation yet. The divorce reason has been cited as "irreconcilable differences."

Kevin Federline

Spears' relationship with her second husband, Kevin Federline, began in 2004. They met at a club in Hollywood called Joseph's. Just three months after they started dating, they tied the knot in September 2004.

The wedding surprised many as Britney and Kevin had initially planned for a grand ceremony the following month. But, they decided to opt for a more spontaneous approach.

Britney and Kevin's marriage lasted for three years until November 7, 2006. She filed for divorce from him. After a period of legal proceedings, their divorce was finalized in July 2007. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for separation.

Jason Alexander

Spears' brief marriage to Jason Alexander lasted a mere 55 hours. It's not entirely clear how they initially met, but it's believed they knew each other from childhood.

The "Toxic" singer and Jason's impulsive decision to wed occurred on January 3, 2004. It happened following a trip to Las Vegas over New Year's. After indulging in several wild parties, they spontaneously decided to tie the knot.

However, the marriage was quickly annulled after a short hearing at Clark County Family Court in Nevada. In her 2023 memoir, "The Woman in Me," Britney revealed that she wasn't in love with Jason and clarified that their union was fueled by alcohol and boredom.

Failed Engagement With Jason Trawick

Before her current relationship, Spears was engaged to Jason Trawick. He also served as her manager. They first met in 2006 through the singer's brother, Bryan Spears. He stood by her through some of her most challenging times.

Trawick and Spears' romantic involvement began in 2009. They soon got engaged in 2011. Unfortunately, their relationship hit a roadblock, and they decided to part ways in 2012.

TMZ reports suggest that one factor contributing to the split was Britney's desire for more children, which Jason was hesitant about. Additionally, rumors circulated that her father, Jamie Spears, paid him to spy on her. Although he vehemently denied these allegations.

The Famous Relationship With Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears had a well-known relationship that had its share of good times and challenges. They first met as young kids on "The Mickey Mouse Club" in the early '90s when they were both rising stars.

Justin and Britney's romance became public in 1999. However, despite being together for several years, their relationship faced difficulties, and they eventually decided to part ways in 2002.

The breakup came after rumors of Britney cheating on Justin, which caused significant strain on their relationship. He later spoke about their split in a notable interview with Barbara Walters.

During the interview, Timberlake performed a song titled "Horrible Woman," which hinted at the emotional turmoil and desire to move forward from the relationship.

The Song Battle

Justin and Britney's breakup sparked much discussion thanks to the songs. His hit song "Cry Me a River" gained widespread attention, with many believing it to be about his romance with the singer.

In the music video, Justin even included a look-alike of Britney. The video depicted scenes that appeared to reference their split. On the other hand, Spears also used her music as an outlet to express her feelings about her past with Timberlake.

Spears released "Everytime," a song that fans have speculated to be about him. In the heartfelt lyrics, it seems like she's offering apologies and reflecting on their shared past.

Refueling The Feud

Timberlake and Spears have reignited their feud recently. In her memoir "The Woman in Me," she made some bold claims, alleging that he had cheated on her multiple times. She even suggested that she had an abortion because he wasn't ready to be a parent.

Following this, Spears took to Instagram to issue a partial apology, as reported in US Magazine. She expressed regret for some of the things she wrote. However, Justin seemingly mocked her apology during a performance in New York City.

During the performance, Justin stated, "I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f***ing nobody," before singing "Cry Me a River," a song widely believed to be about Spears. While he didn't directly name her, the implication was clear.

In response, Spears retracted her apology in another Instagram post, confronting Timberlake and daring him to take their dispute to court. The feud isn't over at the time of this writing.
