Seargeoh Stallone is the son of American actor, screenwriter and director Sylvester Stallone. Stallone has had a long-spanning career in Hollywood. He is most recognized for his roles in the Rocky and Rambo films. Stallone is recognized as an action movie star and almost all of his works are based on the action and thriller categories. His mother was involved in showbiz as well and was a boxing promoter.
Early Family Life
In 1976, Sylvester Stallone starred in Rocky. The film would catapult him to international fame. In the same year, he and wife Sasha Czack welcomed their first child, Sage Moonblood Stallone. 2 years later, the couple welcomed their second son Seargeoh Stallone. At this time, Sylvester was shooting Rocky II.
Role In The Rocky Movies
Sylvester decided to feature his secondborn in the Rocky films. Seargeoh was cast as Sylvester’s onscreen character Rocky Balboa’s son. The role was minor, Seargeoh was barely a few months old. It remains to be Seargeoh’s only onscreen appearance.
Appearance In People Magazine
In 1982, Sylvester and Seargeogh appeared in the cover of People magazine. Sylvester was sporting his iconic Rocky boxing outfit. The cover also featured Seargeoh’s mother Sasha and older brother Sage. This would be his last public appearance. Some unfortunate news soon followed and the little family’s lives would never be the same again.
Seargeoh Was Diagnosed With Autism
Sasha Czack and Sylvester married in 1974. Their first son Sage Moonblood was born in 1976 and their second son Seargeoh was born in 1979. At the age of 3, Seargeoh was struggling to communicate with the people around him. He was able to draw and displayed a tremendous memorization capability but he had little social skills when compared to other children of his age.
A doctor was called to the Stallones’ Pacific Palisades home. After extensive tests, the doctor revealed that Seargeoh was autistic. Autism is a genetic disorder that impairs the growth of social and communication skills in children. The effects of autism are permanent. Symptoms of autism can show up quite early on. Seargeoh was diagnosed somewhere between age 3 to 5.
Life After Diagnosis
Autism has different effects on every individual. No two cases are the same and autistic individuals may require special care in some cases. Many people can lead a relatively normal life. However, this was not the case with Seargeoh. Sylvester later talked about his son’s condition and said
“God and nature has made him different”
Sylvester and Sasha separated in 1985 but have continued to jointly raise Seargeoh. Speaking also talked about his relationship with Seargeoh Sylvester also commented,
“There is no real father-and-son thing there. I have to become his playmate. With a child like this you have to put away your ego. You can’t force him into your world. I sort of go along with whatever he is doing. Sometimes he likes to draw, mostly abstract things, and he has puzzles that we work on together. After he gets to the point where he trusts you, a little more communication can start. The primary therapy is the repetition of words and instructions. He has shown an extraordinary memory, but he can’t apply what he has learned.”
Regarding Seargeoh’s living conditions, Sylvester mentioned that he had his yard redone to allow Seargeoh to experience nature in a safe environment,
“I have tried to build my yard into a New England playground environment, where Seargeoh can go outside and relate to nature and hear the flowing water. That seems to bring him out a little.”
Impact On Family
Speaking about his personal life, Sylvester praised his now ex-wife Sasha. Sasha reportedly understood that Sylvester was bringing in the money and took charge of Seargeoh. She dedicated her time to taking care of her son. The young boy was recognized as ‘high functioning’, an autistic individual with an IQ of 70 or higher.
Sylvester initially showed an interest in bringing his sons into Hollywood as well but recognized that Seargeoh was better off staying away from the limelight. Instead, he focused on providing his fatherly duties towards Sage, his oldest child. Sage also starred in Rocky V and won numerous roles in American films and television shows.
In February 1985, Sylvester and Sasha called quits on their on and off relationship and got a divorce. Sylvester went on to date and marry model and actress Brigitte Nielsen on December 15, 1985.
The marriage didn’t last long, unfortunately. After two years Sylvester and Brigitte got divorced. Sylvester was still actively involved in the lives of his sons and often spent time bonding with them.
In May 1997, Sylvester got married for the third time to former actress and model Jennifer Flavin. With Jennifer, he has three daughters, Sophia Rose Stallone (22), Sistine Rose Stallone (20) and Scarlet Rose Stallone (16).
Death Of Sylvester’s Oldest Child, Sage
Sage Stallone lost his life at the age of 36. In July 2012, the produce/actor was found dead at his apartment in Los Angeles, California. Sage was engaged at the time of his death. By the time his body was found, he had been dead for three to seven days.
A heart attack was found to be the cause of death. His funeral was conducted at Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Los Angeles, California. Sylvester, who was 66 years old at the time of his son's death, opened up for the first time with Good Morning America on August 2012. He expressed his grief saying,
"It’s a horrible situation, but hopefully will heal. That's the reality of life". He kept an optimistic outlook and added," It's important to get back and start reliving your life".
Sylvester bounced back from grief gracefully. Since then he has continued to resume his professional career and gone on to star in sequels of The Expendables franchise and Rocky. Besides his acting career, he also maintains a family life, spending time with his wife and daughters and son Seargeoh.
Seargeoh is 40 years old. He lives with Sasha Czack and is still visited by Sylvester and his half-sisters. Due to limited social and communication growth, Seargeoh is not involved with anyone romantically, he has never been married nor has he fathered children. Seargeoh has often been mistaken for his older brother Sage. Seargeoh was cast as Rocky Balboa Jr in Rocky II. The role was reprised by Sage in Rocky V.
In 2006’s Rocky Balboa, Sage was replaced by actor Milo Ventimiglia for the role. This has often led to confusing comparisons. While Milo and Sage shared facial features, many believed Seargeoh to still be the actor who portrayed Rocky’s onscreen son.
We wish the best for Seargeoh and his family. Sylvester is currently busy with his acting schedule. The final installment in the Rambo franchise, Rambo V: Last Blood is being filmed. His latest released product was Creed II, a sequel to the Rocky franchise.
