Together the couple welcomed two children: Jackie Steves and Andy Steves. Andy followed his father's footsteps into the travel world and founded his own travel company called Weekend Student Adventures Europe and also wrote the book Andy Steves' Europe: City-Hopping on a Budget.
Unfortunately, the couple parted ways after over 26 years of marriage and got divorced on 5th March 2010. The former husband-wife did not disclose the exact reason for their divorce.
