It is not often that we hear of a love story between two people that take over a decade to finally consummate into marriage. Spanning multiple countries and taking them over three continents, Margaret Brennan and Yado Yakub have a whelming heart story that will outlast generations – something that their grandkids will enjoy and adore. Not every couple has such an interesting affair as the two have been involved in.
Margaret first met her husband Yakub in the year 1998 at the University of Virginia, from where they both graduated – Margaret with flying colors, whereas Yakub was too concerned playing the cool frat house boy to do too well on his exams. He was a senior class her in college, and she said it wasn't love at first sight. Though they did not cross paths too often, they knew each other quite well.
Yakub has said that Margaret was attractive but was way too serious for his liking back then. He had given her a name for her time back in college as being "to Connecticut," which in their campus lingo meant up-tight. While Yakub, according to Margaret, was making the most out of college and she called him a "Party Boy."
After college, the two went their separate ways, finally meeting by sheer chance when Margaret was living with her then-boyfriend in Manhattan, and he invited Yakub for a casual dinner. After that incident, the two did not get to hear from each other for a couple of years.
The next time that Yakub entered Margaret's radar was when she moved to Washington to pursue her career in journalism. Now that she was unattached to anybody, Yakub's name came up among her social circles, and she felt a thrill when she heard that the frat house boy, who seemed to be an ambitionless soul roaming around campus in flip-flops and shorts, had now become a lawyer and a marine too.
However, the two being in the same city, did not cross paths for almost a year. Then, all of a sudden, one fine day, when Margaret was walking her dog, she met Yakub, who was waiting for a bus. When Margaret was asked about her chance meeting with Yakub, she said, "It was an Incredible, crazy coincidence. "
The events that followed the chance meeting are of a spectacular nature. He invited her to his apartment for a party he was hosting a month later. By the end of the party, Margaret realized that the frat boy she had known in college, ambitionless and only wanting to do things for fun, had turned into this incredibly sophisticated, cultured, smart and fun guy (not that he wasn't fun in college).
They began exchanging e-mails and phone numbers, and in less than a month, they began to date and were inseparable from then on. Yakub has said, "It's unbelievable. A person whom I considered to be uptight was actually a warm and down-to-earth person who had always been on my mind but somehow managed to escape my conscience time and again."
Margaret married Yakub early on in 2015. Being married for a long time, the pair have already started their own family and are blessed with two kids, Malek Murphy Yakub and Eamon Brennan Yakub. She is 42 years of age and has expressed her intention of starting a family with Yakub. Margaret is 5 ft 6 inches in height and is considered to be one of the most beautiful news anchors in the world today. She is fairly popular on Twitter, and she also has a strong presence on Instagram (just like Cathy Areu), where she has gained over 23.6k followers.
In addition to that, Brennan's IG account has already been verified from where she makes regular posts regarding her ongoing life and events.
