Deone Bucannon played college football at Washington State Cougars. He played all the games in his senior and junior years at Washington State while getting regular starts in his freshman and sophomore year respectively.
Bucannon was considered a top prospect in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals as the 27th pick of the first round Draft.
He started his professional career when he got his first start against the San Diego Chargers and finished the game with 5 tackles. He went to finish his rookie season with 83 tackles, which included 66 solo tackles, 2 sacks, 2 pass deflations and forced stumbles in 9 starts in 16 games for the Cardinals.
With an impressive rookie season, he became an important first team player last year. But he faced a hamstring injury in early May, which saw him stay in the side line for over six months.
On his return, he had a good first game, making 2 interceptions and a total of 9 solo tackles. He then finished the season with 109 tackles, 3 sacks. Despite his injury, his coach has added that he is a key safety player for the Arizona Cardinals.
