The finding of the alien's home is a long-held dream of astronomers, space research organizations such as NASA, RFSA, ESA, and JAEA etc. are providing their regular effort to find us amazing creatures around the Universe, and the recent exoplanet discoveries show that their dream is going to fulfill soon.
Scientists have already discovered around 2,000 planets in our Galaxy since planets out of our solar system found orbiting a Sun-like star in 1995. Over half of these findings were done by NASA’s Kepler space telescope.
Kepler was launched in 2009 to find out Earth-like planets throughout the Milky Way Galaxy.
Astronomers or the space research team recently identified a solar system hosting seven earth-sized planets just around 40 light-years away.
Among them, four planets orbit its central star named, TRAPPIST-1 and it may within a habitable zone, which shows that they fall within a region that could contain life in it.
As such, these newly found solar system’s (Kepler-223) planets are valuable places to focus a search for alien life. Kepler-223 is the first solar system, which has four planets which may include alien life.
European Organization for Astronomical (ESO) discovered a roughly earth-sized planet orbiting to our nearest neighboring star, Proxima Centauri, which is the smallest member of the triple star system and Proxima is just four light-years away from earth that is the closest star to our solar system, besides our Sun.
Last February, NASA announced the finding of seven earth-sized planets orbiting the nearby star called TRAPPIST-1. among them four planets orbit Trappist-1’s Habitable Zone (HZ), the solar system is taken as the best for finding life beyond our solar system.
Astrologers believe that TRAPPIST-1’s planets are capable of containing liquid water as well.
TRAPPIST-1’s Planets are named alphabetically from b to h, all the seven Planets orbit closer to TRAPPIST-1 than our nearest planet Mercury orbits the Sun.
The closest planet TRAPPIST b takes just 1.2 earth day to complete one circle to its star. And the farthest planet takes nearly 20 days to orbit the star. Due to their distance, they’re all a super tight bunch.
Gliese 581 system is one of the earliest found system, which has a red dwarf star located around 20.3 light-years away from Earth.
Astrologers believe that Gliese 581 has several planets orbiting it, one of these is Gliese 581d that orbits within the habitable zone of the star, a circle takes around 66.87 Earth days.
Most of the exoplanets scientists discovered are sometimes too big than earth and some are smaller as well. Some of the planets are too hot to contain life or to hold liquid water as well as orbits different to the Sun and so on.
However, Kepler-452b matches many of the earth’s features, planet Kepler-452b was announced in July 2015.
It is nearly 1.6 times the size of Earth, not only that, it orbits its Star, in the same manner our, Earth orbits the Sun. And it has also Earth-like year i.e. 384.84 days.
One of the important difference between the Earth and the Kepler-452b is that Kepler is just 1.5 billion years old, however, our Earth is 3 billion years older than Kepler.
