All My Children And Dynasty Star Michael Nader Dies At 76 From Cancer

American actor Michal Nader, famous for acclaimed TV operas 'All My Children' and 'Dynasty', left the world after a battle with cancer in 2021. Throughout his life, Dex Dexter of Dynasty struggled with his addiction and was later diagnosed with "untreatable cancer" 10 days prior to his death at 76.

As the veteran TV screen actor was on his deathbed, his third wife Jodie Lister remained by his side. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Nader was married thrice but welcomed a single child, a daughter with his first-wife Robin Weiss.

Born on February 19, 1945, the American actor died on August 23, 2021, at his Northern California home. At the time of death, Nader was 76 years old- 6 months after his birthday.

Since the conclusion of All My Children in 2013, the veteran TV actor remained away from the limelight and PDAs.

In mid-August this year, the All My Children star who portrayed Dimitri Marick was reportedly diagnosed with "untreatable" cancer but didn't specify the details. And after only 10 days of diagnosis, the news of his demise came up, confirmed by his rep Richard Schwartz.

Reportedly, Nader's third wife Jody Lister, an occasional actress, along with their pet dog Storm remained by his side until the end. In a statement with MichaelFairmanTV.com, Lister expressed her grief in the loss of her husband of 18 years:

"With heavy heart, I’m sharing the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael. He was a beautiful and fascinating man with many talents and skills. I will miss him forever. We had 18 wonderful years together with the many dogs we fostered and adopted."

Moreover, she also opened up that Michael reunited with his Dynasty co-stars in March 2021, and was 'excited/thrilled to for a virtual fundraiser for research into COVID-19 survivors experiencing long-haul symptoms.'

The As the World Turns actor is survived by his (third wife) widow Jody and his daughter Lindsay, from his relationship with ex-wife Robin Weiss.

Married Three Times and Divorced Two- All About Late Actor's Relationships

The Palisades Charter High School graduate went professional in acting in 1963, shortly after his graduation. By 1968, the Gidget actor began dating actress Ellen Barber and was in a relationship for 10 years before the split in 1978.

A year after his debut in the soap opera Dynasty in 1983, Michael Nader married Robin Weiss in June 1984, and welcomed daughter Lindsay Michelle Nader, following a month of their marriage. However, in 1990, they divorced.

On March 20, 1992, the All My Children star exchanged vows with his second wife, Beth Windsor, but only to divorce after 2 years in 1994.

Then, almost for a decade, he remained out of the relationship scene, before he found love with his third wife Jody Lister. They married in 2004 and remained together until the actor's demise in August. But, they didn't share any children.

The St. Louis, Missouri native was raised by his mother Minette- who moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting, as his parents split after few months of his birth. By the time, Michael turned 18, he made his acting debut in the early 60s, notably through Beach Party films in small roles.

While the American actor would continue to work in the film until the late 90s, but it was actually the TV screen that brought him into the limelight. From 1983 to 1989, Nader worked in the ABC soap opera Dynasty, portraying Dex Dexter, the third husband of Joan Collins' character Alexis Colby.

Then in 1991, he earned the main role as Dimitri Marick in All My Children (AMC) and worked until 2001, totaling 405 episodes. But his arrest for attempting to sell cocaine to an undercover police officer saw him exit from the show. In 2013, Michael Nader reprised the role in AMC as the soap opera reached its conclusion.
