After his wrist injury against the Houston, it seemed as if Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts would miss the next game as well. But he returned for the game on Sunday. He was hit by the pitch from Houston’s Luke Gregerson. They lost the match 8-3.

“There’s no structural damage. He’s sore. He’s dealing with some swelling,” said manager John Farrell “We’d hopefully expect him to be back available Sunday night.”

Although he missed the game on Saturday, he was back with a bang. Bogaerts returned to his normal position batting third for Boston Red Sox. He might have returned but there were still symptoms of a swollen wrist that most definitely slowed him down.

Although Bogaerts X-Ray was negative with no serious damage to his wrist, he still felt soreness and swelling on Saturday.

“It’s a bit sore. I have power in it. But it’s the mobility. That’s what I don’t have,” Bogaerts said.

Red Sox did manage to win against Astros on Sunday with the game of 12 but the game was nowhere as entertaining as it normally is. It was a rather sloppy game. Moreover, Bogaerts didn’t get a hit until the 11th inning but went 1-for-5 with a walk.

Xander Bogaerts is one of the Ace of Sox so it is detrimental to them if he does not play normally. They did manage to win but it was not pretty either.

Rather than the players, the spotlight was captured by the audience, one of the Red Sox fans who managed to catch the ball while holding a baby, not the first time that has happened. Click here for the video.

The Red Sox are going to play against the Braves on Monday.
