Afterward, the couple started dating and after spending some quality time with her, Stern wrote 'Within a week after our relationship began, I knew I was going to marry her.' And after a few months of that, the couple got married at Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline in Massachusetts on June 4, 1978.

They remained quite happily as a husband and wife for so long and they gave birth to three children together. They welcomed their first daughter Emily Beth in 1983 and daughters Debra Jennifer, and Ashley Jade in 1986 and 1993 respectively.

After remaining in the married relation for over 20 years, Stern and Berns started living separately in 2000. Later in 2001, their relation ended their relation with an amicable divorce and settlement.

Before he started dating his current wife Beth, he dated Angie Everhart and Robin Givens. Stern later began dating Beth in 2000. Stern and a model and television host Beth remained as a girlfriend and boyfriend for a long time before getting engaged in 2007. Stern officially announced his engagement with Beth on February 14, 2007.

Afterward, in October 2008, they tied the knot at Le Cirque restaurant in New York City. The bride and groom took vows in the Mark Consuelos officiated the ceremony. Ever since they are married, they have been sharing their happy time together. But, they haven't thought about children yet.

As a young Stern he enrolled at the Elmira College, however, he dropped out from there in 1972 and pursued a Communication degree at Boston University. But, there he couldn't get direct admission to the communication study due to his average high school grades. He only managed to get there in 1974.

Stern pursued a career as RJ soon after completing graduation in 1976. He started working with WRNW radio during the Christmas 1976. During his early years of work, he worked with the three local stations; WRNW, WCCC, and WWWW radio networks until 1981.
