Hugh & Williams Were Married For A Decade

Fun Fact: The former couple was just 23 years old at the time of their marriage.

The couple welcomed two children, a daughter named Christie Hefner (b. 1952) and a son named David Hefner (b. 1955) while they were still married.

Unfortunately, a decade later their marital relationship came to an end due to infidelity. As per Hugh, Millie got involved in an affair while he was still in the army.

As per the Hollywood Reporter, Williams admitted her mistake and he wrote:

"Hef’s first real heartbreak came prior to tying the knot, when Williams admitted to engaging in an affair during his time in the Army. In an attempt to lessen her guilt and save their relationship, Williams allowed the future mogul to become involved with other women during their marriage."

Years later during an interview, Hefner expressed his devastation about the event saying:

"I had literally saved myself for my wife, but after we had sex she told me that she’d had an affair. That was the most devastating moment in my life. My wife was more sexually experienced than I was. After that, I always felt in a sense that the other guy was in bed with us, too."

Their divorce was finalized on 18th March 1959.

After divorcing Hugh, she got married to her second-husband Edwin Gunn. The couple separated after a few years of their marriage. Even Williams' children Christie and David who were adopted by Gunn changed their surname back to Hefner after William and Gun separated.
