West Ham Manager Slaven Bilic Not Happy his Team Received 3 Red Cards in 5 European Matches this Season.

West Ham Team manager Slaven Bilic has expressed his sadness that his side has already received three red cards in five European matches this season.

The defender James Collins was dismissed in their 2-2 draw to Romania's Astra Giurgiu at home. In their third qualifying round, Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate had scored 2 goals giving them a lead. But then Collins received his second yellow card for pulling Constantine Budescu’s shirt for the 59th time.

The club has received a red card in each of the Europa League qualifying rounds this season. The striker Diafra Sakho was sent off against Andorra’s Lusitanos. Another red card receiver was James Tomkins who got the card in Malta against Birkirkara.

Bilic has a special bond with West Ham as he is not only a mamager, but also a former player for the club. He was brought to the West Ham Team by the manager of Premiere League side, Harry Redknapp in 1996 for the salary of 1.3 million pounds. This made him the highest paid incoming player in the clubs history at the time.

Slaven Bilic, who was born in Yugoslavia in 1968, began his football career with a club in his hometown- Hajduk Split in 1988.

Bilic joined the club from his hometown called Hajduk Split at the age of nine. He rose through the youth ranks at Hajduk. He was then loaned out to lower level sides Primorac and Šibenik as a part of his football training.  These two schools were considered to be among the top teams in Yugoslav Second League.

He then made a transfer to Karlsruher SC of Germany. Later, he also played for West Ham United and Everton in England.He retired from active football in 2001.

After retirement, he coached his hometown club Hajduk Split for the second half of 2001-02 season. Bilic was a shareholder in the club and since they needed a manager, he took up the job till they could find a new manager. He admitted that the adrenaline inspired him. He reportedly received guidance while travelling to Europe and visiting Arsène Wenger and Marcello Lippi.

Then he managed Croatia Under 21 team in 2005 and 2006. Bilic, along  with Aljoša Asanovi, managed the Croatian Under-21 team for two years during the qualification rounds for the U-21 European championship of 2006. Their team went through the group stage but lost in playoff to Serbia and Montenegro. Upon his leadership the team made it to the quarter finals of 2008 European Championship. He stayed and coached for the next four years and then left.

He then joined the Russian club FC Locomotive Moscow. After that, he went to Turkey to manage Besiktas for two seasons. He finally joined West Ham as the manager in June 2015.

The talented former player and manager, aged 46, stands tall at the height of 1.89 metres. He was married to his lawyer wife Andrijila Bilic since 1993 to 2007. They have 2 children together. They are Leo Bilic and Alana Bilic.

How well he manages West Ham during his tenure is yet to be seen, but we wish him all the best!!
