Thrice divorced actress Margot Kidder, age 69, opens up about her views on marriage

Thrice divorced actress Margot Kidder, aged 69, thinks of marriage as not blissful, but rather a painful experience.

A source close to the Superman star has claimed that the actress was not satisfied with her previous three marriages, which led to her bitter opinion on the entire institution.

The insider claimed that Kidder faced great difficulties during her married life and she considered marriage, as a whole, to be an unnecessarily painful experience.

“Margot never had great relationships. She dated several popular men in the past and got married thrice but in her life. But rarely did she have happy moments. Her married lives, all three of them, were painful as hell and Margot does not want to remember any of them. She considers her previous married life to be something best forgotten,” revealed the anonymous source.

The hot Canadian American actress rose to fame in late 70s after she appeared in one of the most iconic roles in the history of cinema, as Lois Lane in the film Superman. She has been married and divorced thrice in her life.

She married American novelist Thomas McGuane in 1975. The couple had a daughter named Maggie, who is Kidder’s only child. The husband and wife duo separated less than two years later in 1977 and got a divorce.

She later tied the knot to actor John Heard in 1979. They seemed happy together. But things did not work out between them either and they separated a year later.

After their divorce, Kidder went on to marry French film director Philippe de Broca. The couple exchanged wedding vows in 1983, but their marriage did not last for more than a year. Their relationship ended just like Kidder’s previous two marriages.

And Kidder’s list of past boyfriends is also not short either. She dated more men than most of us could ever manage to hook up with in our entire life (just kidding).

Before getting married, Kidder dated former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. She started dating director Brian De Palma after her split with Trudeau. And after ending her relationship with De Palma, she hooked up with none other than American stand-up comedian, social critic, and actor, Richard Pryor.

The informant cited her past failed relationships and said that these were the reasons why Kidder hated marriage so much. According to the gossip monger, Kidder always blamed her former lovers and husbands for the failure of their marriage.

“Margot blames her ex-lovers and husbands for all her failures in her love life and the hardship she faced in her personal life. She thinks that their attitudes were the cause behind her failed career and all the distress she went through,” stated the tale bearer.

The insider further explained that Kidder’s problematic and unsuccessful married life was the main reason why she was in a distressed state.

Kidder had had financial problems in the past after she was involved in a car crash in December 1990. She was unable to work for two years.

She also suffered from bipolar disorder and her condition led to an infamous incident back in 1996. She disappeared for four days and started living on street. She was later found in a back yard of a house in a pathetic condition before she was given psychiatric care.

Kidder is alright now, but she hates to talk about her past, said the source. She lives with her dogs and loves to spent quality times with her daughter and two grandchildren.

The Sisters star, who has appeared in several other movies and TV shows, has an estimated net worth of $300 thousand dollars.
