Sydney Rae Leroux Dwyer is an American professional soccer player and Olympic Gold medalist. Sydney was born to a Canadian mother, Sandi Leroux, and American father, Ray Chadwick in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada on the 7th May 1990.
The Canadian born soccer player started out her career by representing Canada at various youth levels. Then, she decided to play for the United States women’s under-20 soccer team in 2008. By 2012, Leroux decided to play for US Senior National team
Currently, she plays for the Western New York Flash in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) as a forward.

Her father, Ray Chadwik was a baseball player. He pitched for the California Angels in the year 1986. Leroux’s parents reportedly got separated when her mother was three months pregnant with her. She was primarily raised by her mother. However, Sydney followed her father’s footsteps by playing baseball for Whalley Little League, 1994-2004.
Leroux went to Johnston Heights Secondary School back in her hometown, Surrey. She excelled in sports from her school days. She was a leading scorer in her school soccer team. She was also a part of the Under-14 National Championship in 2003.

Sydney became the youngest player to participate in the 2004 FIFA U-19 Women’s World Cup that was held in Thailand, at the age of 14.
With a dream to become a part of the US women’s national soccer team, Sydney moved to Scottsdale, Arizona at the young age of 15. Living with many host families, she attended Horizon High School in her junior and senior year.
Despite all the troubles she had to face all alone in a completely new place, she led Sereno Soccer Club to state titles in 2007 and 2008.
In her college life as well, Leroux played excellent soccer and accomplished a lot during that time. From collegiate soccer to State level championships, Sydney was able to show her true worth to her audience.
She has been a part of different soccer clubs like Vancouver Whitecaps (2005 & 2011), WPS Draft and Seattle Sounders Women, 2012, Boston Breakers, 2013 and Seattle Reign FC, 2014.

Leroux is married to Dom Dwyers. Her husband, Dwyers is a Major League soccer player. Their wedding was revealed on Valentines’ day this year and the soccer-power couple later admitted that they had met in 2013 and started dating during last year.
The couple, in a statement, stated juggling their respective careers and relationship was very difficult, which is why they decided to wed privately in January.
Earlier, she was in a relationship with Brett Lawrie with whom she broke up after getting engaged. Her ex-boyfriend is a Major League Basketball player.

Sydney has appeared in several advertisements and promotional pieces for Nike. In June 2014, she signed an endorsement contract with Nestle Nesquik. She made a cameo appearance in Beats by Dre commercial.
Apart from that, Sydney has been featured as one of the 21 professional athletes in 2013 in ESPN’s The Body issue. She once also appeared semi-nude on the cover of the magazine.
