Who is Sandeep Lamichhane?
Sandeep Lamichhane is a 17 years old cricketer from Syangja, Nepal, also known as Shane Warne of Nepal. He is best known for his dangerous Leg- Break googly. He has represented Nepal in many major games including the Under-19 World Cup 2016 and is recently playing for the Indian club Delhi Daredevils.
Sandeep was born in the Syanga district of Nepal. The name of his parents; father Chander Narayan Lamichhane and mother is Kopila Devi Lamichhane. His father worked in Indian Railway, where Sandeep started learning cricket. The name of his elder brother is Mohan Lamichhane and sister is Indu Lamichhane Neupane.
Sandeep Lamichhane's Cricket Career
After getting back to Nepal, Sandeep started playing from Chitwan Cricket Academy. Following the dream of being the best cricketer, he made a List A debut in the ICC Cricket League Champion 2015- 2017 on 16 April 2016 against Namibia.
Sandeep represented Nepal in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016 where he showed his excellent performance, and also took a hat-trick against Ireland Under-19 team in his second match, where he dismissed Lorcan Tucker, Adam Dennison, and Fiachra Tucker in the 32 over and also took a total of 5 wickets in the same game. He was the 5th bowler to take a hattrick in the U19 world cup, which grabbed the attention of whole world cricket.

After his brilliant performance in the U-19 world league Championship in September 2016, he received a letter from former Australian Captain Michael Clarke inviting him to play at the Western Suburbs District Cricket Club. Michael Clarke himself arrived at the airport to receive Sandeep. People also call Micheal Clarke as Sandeep Lamichhane's godfather.
In 2017 ACC Under-19 Asia cup he dismissed Malaysia U-19 team to total runs of 45 and was also named the Man Of The Match. In January 2018 he was named in Nepal's squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament and was the Man of the match in the opening game against Namibia.
Again in the fourth match played against Kenya, Lamichhane took his first Five wicket haul in the List A cricket and was also named the man of the match. He was also awarded the ICC World Cricket League Division Two, player of the tournament in which he took 17 wickets in 6 games.
In February 2018 International Cricket council named him as one of the ten players to watch of the 2018 cricket World Cup Qualifier and named him as the rising star of Nepal's squad. Again in March 2018, he was drafted to play for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Caribbean Premier League for $5000.
On May 16, 2018, Sandeep Lamichhane was named in the ICC World XI to play Twenty 20 match against West Indies in Lord's Cricket Ground in St. John's Wood in London on May 31, 2018. International Cricket Council named Lamichhane as one of the players of World XI team.
The team is said to be playing to raise a fund for the restoration of the James Ronald Webster Park ground which is located in Anguilla and Windsor Park stadium located in Dominica. The Hurricanes destroyed both the stadium.
With his rapidly growing success, Sandeep had already made his name in the history of world cricket as a sensational young talent. Sandeep caught the eye of many famous cricketers and was also appreciated by many international and national players. Further going through his brilliant career time, Sandeep again got chance to play in the worlds best official cricket league, Indian Premier League(IPL).

In January 2018 Sandeep was one of the listed players for the auction in 2018 Indian Premier League where his base price was 20 lakhs(IC). He was in the 276 number of the players' list. Later the famous club bought him paying the base price of 20 lakhs(IC).

Sandeep made the history by being the first Nepalese player to play in the IPL. Though he did not make in the starting XI for the 11 matches. Sandeep did his first debut in IPL for Delhi Daredevils in the 12th match against RCB.
In his first game in IPL against RCB Sandeep showed his brilliant appearance and also took a major wicket of Parthiv Patel. However, Sandeep and his team lost the game. His bowling skills won the heart of millions of cricket fans by taking a wicket and giving only 25 runs in 4 overs with the economy of 6.25. It was a brilliant start for the young talent in IPL.
Sandeep played his second match in IPL against CSK where he again came up with his brilliant spell and took his second wicket in his IPL career. He has taken a wicket of Suresh Raina who is one of the best players in IPL.
With his excellent bowling giving only 21 runs in 4 overs and a wicket with the economy of 5.25 Delhi won the match against CSK and also M.S Dhoni, captain of CSK with the massive 34 runs. Sandeep also won the Stylish Player of the Match. He shared his happiness and thanked his team for the opportunity sharing the picture via Instagram.
Again Delhi played its last match of IPL 2018 against Mumbai Indians, where Sandeep Lamichanne has taken three wickets and gave 36 runs in his four overs with the economy of 9.00.
He took wickets of Surya Kumar Yadav, Kioran Pollard, and Krunal Pandya which changed the whole game and Delhi won the match by 11 runs and also knocked out MI from IPL 2018.
