In the spring of 2012, rumors started circulating about a possible romance between the two. With pictures surfacing of their date in April confirming the rumors. Mila later went on record saying she developed a crush on Ashton earlier while working together on the sets of “That 70s show.”
In an interview with Howard Stern in 2016, Mila said she was attracted to Kutcher (6’4”) unknowingly, as he was seated in front of her in an award show. Recalling the encounter, she said:
“Who's that tall guy?” Then he just turns around and it was literally like if we were in a movie, the music would start playing and the violins would go...I think for the first time ever he took my breath away...I was like f**k, he's good looking.”
Still, Kutcher having no idea about Mila’s feelings, planned to set her up with his friend. Everything unfolded when he invited her over for a housewarming party, she made her move while waiting for Kutcher’s friend. The sparks quickly flew between the two with Kunis’s friend who had accompanied her leaving the party as a dutiful wing woman. The pair then ensued in kissing in private, with conversations that carried on through the night as Mila explained "So then we end up having a lot of talks about how this is a huge mistake and how he needs to go and be single and I need to go and be single. It was super private for a very long time."

The couple now were living out their movie lives (“No Strings Attached” for Kutcher and “ Friends With Benefits” for Mila), both just wanted to keep their relationship casual and fun, so they started their friends with benefits.
In contrast to fallings of their onscreen counterparts, Mila explains why their relationship worked:
“We both were in agreement. Like, "Yeah, this is just fun. Just fun," shook hands on it, "this is just fun." Three months later, I was like, "This isn't fun anymore." We were always open. We were incredibly open with one another in regard to like where we were with our feelings. We found out we would literally attempt to see other people and then like that night we'd be like, "Hey, what are you up to? Wanna come over?" It ended up being just having fun to genuinely wanting [more]—when I realized I was nervous [about him going out with someone else and me losing him], was when I spoke to him. I was like, I don't like this anymore.”
Coming out clean, Kutcher also shared similar sentiments and with both wanting out of their relationship both started dating exclusively.
Dating Exclusively
After committing to each other, the couple was seen in many sporting events sharing romantic glances, holding hands and even kissing on camera. According to Daily News, the couple got engaged in early January 2014 and Kunis showed off her engagement ring in Lakers game. Only a few days later after the kiss cam moment, Kunis was pictured with a baby bump, rumors started circulating about Mila being pregnant with couple’s first child.
