Less than six months after their lavish wedding in Quebec City, well known as the Quebec power couple, Pierre Karl Peladeau and Julie Snyder announced their divorce.
This is not the first time the Parti Quebecois leader, Peladeau and a television host and producer, Snyder have separated. Peladeau was in a long term relationship with his partner Julie Snyder since past 15 years. They had started dating in 1999 after they met at the offices of TQS TV station.
The couple was not married until 2015. Before their marriage they had two children together. Their first child, Thomas was born in 2005 and their second child Romy was born in 2009. Peladeau also has a daughter, Maria from his previous marriage with Isabelle Hervet, from France.
Even before their marriage, the unmarried couple had decided to part from each other and had announced their news of separation in December 2013. Although they separated for few months, the couple got back together, eventually.
Peladeau and Snyder got engaged in November, 2014 and decided to marry on August 15, 2015. They organized a lavish wedding in Quebec City in which the pair had invited Quebec renowned cultural and political celebrities. The wedding is regarded the best wedding of all times.
Though they had a lavish wedding, their marital relationship could not last even for six months. There must have been something really crucial that have crossed the height of their tolerance for one another. That led to their split even after being in relationship over 15 years.
In January 2016, they filed for divorce and announced their separation. According to La Presse reports, their divorce has been confirmed as they have already instructed their lawyers to begin divorce proceedings.
“Julie Snyder and Pierre Karl Peladeau announce, with regret, that they have decided to end their union,” the statement reads.
In the announcement, Peladeau and his wife, Julie declared that they have split and entered a mediation process.
It has been said that the couple did not want to comment further regarding their divorce for the best interest of their children.
“We are aware that our family life is public, we respect and understand that the media and the public may have questions with what we’re living. However, we cannot comment because we’ve undertaken a mediation process, a private way of preventing and settling disputes in order to find solutions in the best interest of our family”, the couple said.
Rumors suggest that their marriage was not going well right from the beginning. It was rumored quite earlier about their split after the couple showed up separately to the funeral of Rene Angelil.
Though the reason behind their divorce is under wild speculation, we hope whatever the couple opt for brings fortune in their lives.
Ranked among the richest Canadians, Pierre Karl has an estimated net worth of $673 million.
