Penguins deliver a great match despite Kris Letang's absence.

Kris Letang is not all the Pittsburgh Penguins has to offer but he contributes significantly to the team.

Letang’s high head shot against Washington forward Marcos Johnson on Tuesday led him to game suspension. Because of that Letang missed Wednesday’s Match 4 against the Washington Capitals.

Despite not having Kris in the team, Penguins played a decent game. They won the match (2-3) against the Capitals. Now they are in the lead of the series by 3-1.

Patric Hornqvist scored after a careless clearing attempt and beat Braden Holtby at 2:34 in overtime securing a 3-2 win against their opponents. Trevor Daley and Matt Cullen also scored for Pittsburgh while Jay Beagle and John Carlson were listed in scorers for the Capitals.

There were many speculations that the loss of their ace defenseman may affect the team pretty badly.

“He’s the backbone of their defense,” Washington defenseman Karl Alzner said. “He goes back for pucks and finds a way to get them out of the zone. He goes and transitions the puck, and then obviously logs key minutes on their [power play].”

We have to say the Penguins did pretty well even in the absence of their defenseman Kris Letang. Not only did they win the match but proved everyone that Penguins are much more than Letang

"We’ll prepare the same way,” said Sullivan. “We’re not going to change our style of play. We’re not going to change our identity just because one guy comes out of our lineup.”
