Zombieland 2 is apparently happening. Is Abigail Breslin going to reprise her role?

After being in the news for years it seems Zombieland 2 is finally happening. Sony has announced that Zombieland 2 is not just a rumor. The wait is almost over and the new logo confirms it.

For the sequel Dave Callaham has been hired to write the script and will be supervised by Ruben Fleischer himself who is the director of the first movie.

While there were still rumors about the sequel, writer Rhett Reese mentioned that it has been constantly delayed by Sony.

It’s actually still in development over at Sony, they’ve had a couple writers take a crack at it, we’re still exec producers and we’re guiding and helping where we can and, yeah, I think there’s still very much talk about it, but I think it has to be right, I think all the actors and [original ‘Zombieland' director] Reuben [Fleischer] all feel like there’s no reason to do it again if we’re not getting it exactly right.” said Reese to the Q and A podcast.

The cast, however, has not been fixed yet. Eisenberg and Harrelson had shown interest for the sequel back in 2009 but it has been a long time. We sure do hope that all four of them could go on yet another journey.

Seeing as it is 2016, it might probably be in 3D. It is sure to be an eyeful for the fan of the original movie.

Despite being a low budget movie, Zombieland scored big. They didn’t have popular cast. Even Emma Stone who was one of the main cast was not as famous back then.  Zombie land performed great earning around five times more revenue

One of the fan-favorite characters of the movie was Abigail Breslin who portrayed the role of obnoxious Little Rock. Abigail who was one of the emerging teen actresses by then had no trouble fulfilling the expectation of the director. This Scream Queens actress knows how to dive into character and make an impact. As a matter of fact, Director Ruben Fleischer stated that it was him who wanted to take her in the role.

"The dream was always to get Abigail Breslin"

The movie itself was a great entertainment. People and Critics loved it for its humor and dialogues between characters. The sequel is still in development and is expected to be released in 2016.
