Where is Lisa Jakub now? Is she married? Does she have any children?

Lisa Jakub is an actress best known for her role as Lydia Hillard, Robin William’s daughter in Mrs. Doubtfire and Alicia Casse in Independence Day.

Getting into Hollywood is a big thing for actors; you’ve made it in life if you’ve made it to Hollywood.  But Lisa Jakub got her start when she left. Lisa bid farewell to Hollywood when she was 22, after appearing in major commercial and blockbuster movies for more than a decade.

She left Hollywood with a desire to live a normal life but leaving it was not easy. She said, “I feared that if I quit and was stripped of the title of actor, there would be nothing left of me. I’d collapse like a puppet when someone cut the strings,”

“I feared that if I quit and was stripped of the title of actor, there would be nothing left of me. I’d collapse like a puppet when someone cut the strings,”

But being in Hollywood was even more suffocating for her. She was under peer pressure; she couldn’t leave even when she wanted. As a result, she spent many years in Hollywood living according to standards of others and finally left when water started to rise above her neck.

When asked about why she left in an interview with Breitbart, she says, “I saw myself becoming a caged animal, trapped in a life I didn’t want, pacing and foaming at the mouth and making ill-advised life choices that resulted in a clichéd headline…So, I left.”

Lisa has written on her blog about her leave this way, “I didn’t hate it. It wasn’t awful and I’m not whining about how hard my life was. Parts of it were really wonderful for a while. But then I got to the point where it just wasn’t fun for me anymore. So, I decided I should leave, before I became one of those alcoholic/eating disorder ravaged/drug addicted train wrecks of a former child actor. I had no desire to be a cautionary tale.”

She mentioned how she tried to stop running away and finally leave the past behind. Lisa writes, “When I left L.A. a decade ago, I tried to bury Lisa Jakub. I’ve buried her with going to college, getting married, becoming a writer and learning how to use my stove.”

In an interview with Breitbart she says,” “I learned how to fill out a timecard and make vegetable stir fry for dinner. I collected quarters for the dryer. I learned what normal life looked like. And it was beautiful,”

After retiring from acting in 2001 at the age of 22, Lisa moved to Virginia and married a longtime partner, a former Hollywood theater manager, Jeremy Jones on June 2005. Their wedding took place in Italy. She has become one of the inspirational writers and people love her book “You Look Like That Girl”.

Lisa and her husband have chosen to live a quiet life in Virginia along with their dogs. They do not have any children. Lisa Jakub’s net worth is not known.
