Last night, American actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish made history as the first African  American female comedian to host the long-running sketch show Saturday Night Live, shortly popular as SNL.

The skillful comic pretty much crushed the always daunting opening monologue and then her comedy rocked the rest of the episode.

The Girls Trip star talked about the fashion and serious issues like sexual harassment in her history-making hosting gig. Millions of fans are commenting that this is the first time a black female stand-up comedian has hosted the sketch show which has been aired for 43 seasons.

You know, Haddish is not the only black star that made marks in the arts. Hattie McDaniel, Halle Berry, Sidney Poitier, Ella Fitzgerald, Donald Glover Lena Waithe, Gabby Douglas, Vanessa Williams, Tyra Banks, Beverly Johnson and many others have already registered their name in the history in their particular field.
