The Avett Brothers Hit Album ‘True Sadness’ Jumped Them To HBO

The Avett Brothers’ documentary May It Last jumps both brothers from North Carolina to HBO screens. The documentary follows the Avett Brothers production of popular album True Sadness.

 

The production of May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers is directed by Michael Bonfiglio and Judd Apatow. This, not the first time that director Judd Apatow intrigued by Avett Brother musical work. Apatow used the siblings 2012 hit track in his movie This Is 40.

On 31 January 2017, the documentary was announced to premiere at the 2017 South by Southwest film festival but was premiered on 29 January 2018 on HBO.

The documentary film took about 2 years to shot and start with the musical work on hit album True Sadness and ends with the performance at Madison Square Garden (MSG) of 20 thousand seat capacities.

The film with triumphant performance also recounts tragedy, brothers’ teamwork, and bonding. If we take examples of siblings bands than Avetts Brothers are a rare example of understanding brothers who are have given success to their band in reality and on HBO Documentary.
