Suspected lesbian Actress Clea DuVall, who is rumored to be dating a girl, talks about her new movie

Clea Duvall is reportedly making her directorial debut and it's almost like it's a ‘But I'm a Cheerleader’ sequel. The movie, which doesn’t have a title yet, will be written and produced by Duvall. She will star alongside OITNB star Natasha Lyonne amongst others. Duvall starred as Lyonne's girlfriend in the 1999 cult hit But I'm a Cheerleader. The movie will also star ‘But I'm a Cheerleader’ alumna Melanie Lynskey as well as How I Met Your Mother's Cobie Smulders. The rest of the cast includes Vincent Piazza, Alia Shawkat, Jason Ritter and Ben Schwartz.

Duvall has managed to keep everything under wraps as she moves forward with the project. This is the first time writing for Duvall, who is known for her works in Argo, American Horror story and Lizzie Borden Chronicles. The Lizzie Borden Chronicles ran its eight episode installment from April 5, 2015 to May 25, 2015.  The miniseries starred Christina Ricci as Lizzie Borden and Duvall as Emma Borden. They both starred in Lizzie Borden Took an Ax, the movie that preceded the miniseries.

Talking to International Business Times about the miniseries, Duvall said, "Well, we really approached the series as though the movie was a very separate thing, for us, it wasn’t connected."

“It kind of created a different history and so I think that in that story there was a lot more questioning.”

She also said that she really liked the last two episodes of the series. Duvall said, "I really think the last two episodes are my favorite,” she admitted. “They were my favorite scripts and my favorite to shoot."

Emma Borden was a different character for Duvall, who is mostly known for playing lesbian roles. Most recently, she played Wendy Peyser, a closeted school teacher and in American Horror Story: Asylum. Talking about her role with Vulture, Duvall previously said,

"It was such a different time. You and I can look at it from the perspective of people living in 2012, but I think that the fear at that time was very real, and you could have your entire life destroyed by who you love and by being who you are. And I think Wendy was caught in a moment that she probably never expected to be in, and she’d worked so hard to hide who she was. And then to have someone just walk in her house and tell her that the person that she loved more than anything had been hurt but then also say that she’s going to tear her life apart — I definitely have compassion for her and understand the position she was put in."

While she has been photographed with many "friends" in the past years, Duvall likes to keep her private life under wraps. Not much is known about her dating life, her family or her education, though there are rumors that she is a lesbian and might be currently dating someone. But, we have no confirmation about his alleged girlfriend, so we really can’t be sure. She is not active on social media and doesn't have an Instagram or a Twitter account.
