Sheryl Sandberg on being a single mother.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg has had it rough. Her husband Dave Goldberg who was the CEO at survey monkey recently died in an accident in Mexico in 2015. Dave and Sheryl were on vacation to Mexico when Dave fell off the Treadmill at the gym. This led to head trauma and blood loss that resulted in his eventual death. Since then, she has been living as a single mother to two of her children.

Sherly posted on her Facebook page on being a single mother praising all the single mother for the dedication and effort and all the hardship that they had to endure.

“For me, this is still a new and unfamiliar world. Before, I did not quite get it. I did not really get how hard it is to succeed at work when you are overwhelmed at home. I did not understand how often I would look at my son’s or daughter’s crying face and not know how to stop the tears. How often situations would come up that Dave and I had never talked about and that I did not know how to handle on my own. What would Dave do if he were here?”

She wrote about the unfamiliar and different world that she has come to live in without her husband. Sheryl wrote about how she is finding it exceedingly difficult to make choices constantly reminding her of the loss of her beloved who had stood together with her and helped made her those decisions.

Sherly is currently a working single mother and is glad that she does not have to face many economic hardships that many single moms have to. She stated how she is lucky to take care of her children through her single paycheck.

It has been more than a year and Sheryl is still finding it exceedingly difficult to cope up with the loss. On May 1, the anniversary of her husband’s death, she had posted on Sunday about how she will always miss him. We know you will never get over such trauma, but we wish you all the best for your life.
