Joe Morton might be the most hated dad in the small screen, but it didn’t stop him from bagging the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series from Shonda Rhimes drama series “Scandal”. And now, this talented actor aged 68, who played the role of Kerry Washington’s character Olivia Pope’s father Rowan Pope, has opened up about his character’s fate in the upcoming new season of the show.

Spoilers alert!!!

The television’s most popular villain Joe Morton aka Rowan Pope, who appeared as the villainous yet fatherly figure in Shonda Rhimes drama Scandal, has been the center of attraction despite being a recurring character. His twisted and wicked character portrayal won praise from critics and fans alike, which ultimately won him an Emmy. As we all know that at the end of the last season, Rowan was imprisoned while viewers were left scratching their heads as to what would happen next to Olivia’s father in the upcoming season. And now that the fifth season has started, we all saw Rowan being captured by Huck (Guillermo Diaz), Olivia’s faithful.

The actor himself has given away a little bit of his secret to us and we hope it won’t be creating a scandal of any sort (wink). Morton recently talked about the fate of his character on the ABC hit political drama.

Speaking to Variety, Morton revealed information on whether or not one of Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) Gladiators will kill his character. He said: "I think you should be scared. Huck is there for a very powerful life reason so the stakes are very high for him. Yes, I think you should be afraid for Papa Pope." So is that a yes or a no? Did Morton just point out that Huck might kill him as he told us to be sacred? Or will Papa Pope just be hurt by him then?

He also revealed why Huck kidnapped Rowan in the first place. According to the actor, Huck is just trying to face the devil aka Rowan. Our confusion was cleared when Morton admitted that Rowan gets away unharmed, but the incident would eventually have a greater impact on Huck instead.

"I think because these two devils have to face one another, that could be shocking to both of them," he added.

Those of you who watched the previous episode of the new season of the show, saw Rowan confessing to his daughter Olivia that he was fearful of his sons, who he thought were after him. He further added that Rowan was scared of the people who he himself trained because he thought that they were out there to kill him.

The actor also revealed that his character would be facing further difficulties in his life as B613 was no longer there to protect him. He also said that for the first time ever, Rowan was proud of Olivia.

Morton is an American stage, television, and film actor who has appeared in several movies. His career reached its ultimate height when he starred in Scandal.
