Richard Engel and Wife Mary Forrest, married for a few months, excited about having children

NBC Chief Correspondent Richard Engel and his wife Mary Forrest are eagerly waiting for the new member in their family. On July, Engel disclosed through Twitter that his wife Forrest is pregnant with their first child.

“I'm SO happy to reveal that I am going to be a dad soon!” the 41-year-old actor captioned on his Twitter page.

The couple got married on May 2015. The ceremony was a secret affair where only relatives and close friends were invited. The news was confirmed only when Engel shared his happiness with his fans on Twitter.

Engel met Forrest at Martha's Steward Show, where Forrest was a producer and Engel appeared as a guest. They were in a relationship for five years before getting married.

Before dating Forrest, he was married to a fellow student at Stanford. Due to some personal issues they got separated in 2005 and then they finally divorced.

Richard Engel is an American journalist who graduated from Stanford University in 1996. In Stanford's 124th commencement day, he was invited as a chief guest where he said, "Urbanization, climate and communication technology are issues of utmost importance for this generation and next. They are already coming together to make an explosive cocktail".

He revealed that, after graduation when he was in Egypt, "I had no job lined up, no contacts, I spoke no Arabic and had about $2000 in my pocket. I loved that I was trying to figure it out on my own".

Since that time, he has covered many stories for TV. He also advised the graduates "Put yourself in a situation where you don’t what's going around you let your brain sort it out. That's the fun part: I'm constantly learning, the new place and the new risk".

Richard Engel is a Chief Correspondent in NBC as well as an author. He started his career working as a Middle East Correspondent for "The World", a joint venture of BBC and Public Radio International from 2001-2003.

He is an author of ‘“A Fist in the Hornet’s Nest” and “War Journal: My Five Years in Iraq”. In these books, he has written about his experience during the war in Iraq. His writing was praised and honored at Emmy awards in 2008.
