Pastor Maldonado to take on a F1 test role for Pirelli?

Recently The World Motor Sports Council has approved to change the sporting regulations in order to allow Pirelli more track time to develop its 2017 Formula 1 tires.

For the test, racing driver Pastor Maldonado is lined up to take on another racing driver F1 test role for Pirelli along with another racing driver Giedo van der Garde.

Recently, two have completed the test of two days in a GP2 car at Mugello, focusing on evaluating GP2 construction tires.

After those tests were completed, Pirelli at the present wants to get forward on some work with 2014 F1 cars, which is going to be involved at this stage four teams: Ferrari,  Mercedes, Red Bull and Renault.

Even Maldonado after losing his F1 drive at the end of last season seems to have a good relationship with Pirelli.

Mugello and Fiorano are considered as the two favored tracks for the testing.

According to Autosport, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile  (FIA) says,-

"There will be an opportunity to test prototype 2017 tyres (in 2016 sizes) on 2013 or 2014 cars. The further testing was deemed to be essential for the purpose of developing the new tyre sizes permitted by the 2017 F1 technical regulations.”

And Maldonaldo seems to be at the top of happiness for getting the chance to test.
