Pablo Sandoval to skip the rest of the season.

The season has come to an end for Pablo Sandoval, the Boston Red Sox third baseman.

Sandoval underwent a surgery to repair a torn labrum in the left shoulder. Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery on May 3rd, in Pensacola, Florida, which turned out to be a success. With recovery time on his way, Sandoval’s season has come to an end.

Full recovery is expected to happen within a period of six months, considered to be the minimum recovery time.

Sandoval is in his second season of a $95 million the US, five-year contract. His first season in the Red Sox ended with career-lows with a .245 average, 10 homers and 47 RBIs.

Now he is left with 4 years and $73 million. I almost forgot his weight issue! Time has come for him to fix that to make a strong comeback after his full recovery.

He is expected to return for 2017 season after making a full recovery.

"The surgery went as well as it could be expected," Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski told ESPN. He added, "I talked to Pablo already myself today. I talked to Representative Rick Thurman [of Beverly Hill Sports Council]. Pablo's happy to be able to have fixed the problem and committed to get ready for next year."

Sandoval had a sore shoulder; neither he nor manager John Farrell could determine how or when he was injured.  The Sox placed Sandoval on the disabled list before he was examined by team physicians. Sandoval underwent an MRI examination and went on to see Dr. James Andrews on April 18th. The doctor could not examine him because there was too much swelling.

After being examined, the problem was identified and fixed. Although the injury was unfortunate for Sandoval who has tried very hard throughout the season, the brighter side can be seen as identification and fixation of the problem soon enough for him to make a comeback next season.
