It is not the first time the author Alice Munro is selling the movie rights for her books.

Back in 2006,a movie with the direction debut of Sarah Polley was released. The film was based on Alice Munro's short story "The Bear Came Over The Mountain" from the 2001 collection Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage. It was executive produced by Atom Egoyan and distributed by Lionsgate.

The movie is based on the story of a man coping with the institutionalization of his wife because of Alzheimer's disease faces an epiphany when she transfers her affections to another man, Aubrey, a wheelchair-bound mute who also is a patient at the nursing home.

The movie was a super hit and estimated to collect   $9,194,283.

The Author is encouraged by the success of the movie which made her sel more movie rights for her stories.

Born in Canada in 1931, Alice Munro is a Canadian short story writer and a Nobel Prize Winner. Munro's work has been described as having revolutionized the architecture of short stories, especially in its tendency to move forward and backward in time.

Her stories have been said to "embed more than announce, reveal more than parade.

Her first collection of stories was published as Dance of the Happy Shades. In 2009, Munro won the Man Booker International Prize. That same year, she published the short-story collection Too Much Happiness. In 2013, at age 82, Munro was awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Her final story collection was Dear Life which she published in 2012.

She received her Nobel Prize in Literature back in 2013.

Shortly after that, the writer retired from her work in June 2013.

Munro currently resides in Clinton, after her husband Gerald died in 2013.
