Melissa Rivers has settled her lawsuit against the New York endoscopy clinic.

America's famous comedian and star of the show “Fashion Police” on E! Joan Rivers passed away tragically in September 2014 because of doctor's negligence, while undergoing a throat procedure.

She died in Mount Sinai Hospital, where she had been hospitalized after going into cardiac arrest during an outpatient procedure at Yorkville Endoscopy.

Her daughter, Melissa Rivers, filed a medical malpractice lawsuit in 2015 in state Supreme Court in Manhattan that alleged doctors performed unauthorized medical procedures, which led to her mother's death.

The medical examiner later determined that she had stopped breathing during the procedure and suffered fatal brain damage resulting from a lack of oxygen.

The clinic and doctors took responsibility for the malpractice and negligence.

Melissa Rivers has settled her lawsuit against the New York endoscopy clinic, however, the amount remains undisclosed.

The actress shared,” The lawsuit concerning my mother's death has been settled. In accepting this settlement, I am able to put the legal aspects of my mother’s death behind me and ensure that those culpable for her death have accepted responsibility for their actions quickly and without equivocation. Moving forward, my focus will be to ensure that no one ever has to go through what my mother, Cooper and I went through and I will work towards ensuring higher safety standards in outpatient surgical clinics. I want to express my personal gratitude to my legal team for their wise counsel and prompt resolution of this case.”
