Mehmet Topal agrees to join Tottenham Hotspur FC.

A Turkish professional football player, Mehmet Topal plays for Fenerbahce SK as a defensive midfielder.

Turkish sources are reporting the news that Spurs have already agreed on a pre-agreement with the midfielder Topal ahead of a summer move.

And it looks like Topal will be the first summer signing this year of Tottenham Hotspur. 30 years old Topal would be the first Turk to play for Spurs.

Topal is recently in the final few months of his contract with Fenerbahce.

The versatile player would be out of contract in the summer and would be arriving London on a free transfer.

In his official twitter, he has not still declared about his transfer to Tottenham Hotspur FC. Still this news is said to be as rumor as Topal’s agent Batur Altiparmark told Turkish-football.com-

“Everybody writes something different every other day so I am not going to respond to every transfer rumour.”

Topal has still 6 months left on his previous contract with the Istanbul Giants and he has not even signed the new deal.

Fans seem excited whether he would actually sign the deal or not.

Anyways Tottenham would get an advantage getting Topal as the midfielder as the Hotspurs could snap him on a free transfer which would be a bargain. Plus he is an immensely experienced player in domestic, European competition and international football. And he is intelligent in playing as a midfielder and thinks quickly in accurate passing.
