Many women now openly speak about the incidents they tried to forget the past. A former ABC news executive, Betsy West who serves as the Fred W. Friendly professor of the professional pratic in media and society at the Columbia University School of Journalism says:

The Halperin's sexual controversy is another embarrassing moment for the TV news business that has been struggling with the problems related to sexual harassment in the workplace.
After former anchor, Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Roger Ailes back in July 2016, which makes Fox News in the hot seat. While the broad investigation was begun, besides Roger Ailes, Fox News on-air personalities like Eric Bolling and Bill O'Reilly cases popped out.

The accusation against Halperin could encourage other more people from the same networks or other networks to share their experiences. A former CNN producer, Eleanor McManus revealed about the harassment and allegations she encountered with Halperin after the network flashed the story.
During a television interview with Megyn Kelly, she explained each detail of the allegations she went through. She detailed about how Halperin sexually harassed her during a meeting in the late 1990s. During that time, she was a Brandeis University student who was trying to get into the TV news business.
Several former ABC News employees who worked during that time in the network spoke about the condition and revealed that there had been cases where people were disciplined and fired over such cases.
For now, Halperin apologized for his behavior at ABC. He even denied that he never masturbated in front of any of his alleged victims or ever committed sexual assault.
