Kevin Stevens arrested for drug conspiracy.

Former NHL player Kevin Stevens was arrested on federal drug charges. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he was arrested on the charge of conspiracy and possession of a drug called oxycodone. He was accused of the intent of distribution. Kevin was however not alone. He had one partner in crime named Christopher Alonardo, who is suspected to be in his late 40s.

Kevin was charged last Thursday with conspiring to deal out the highly addictive opioid painkiller. Until their detention hearing on Tuesday, they will be kept in custody. Kevin also has a history including his battle against alcohol addiction and drug addiction over the years.

In a statement to the globe, Kevin’s attorney John J. Commisso stated that he has injuries, pain, and other challenges that make him resort to such drugs. He also assures that Kevin will be released shortly.

“After his lengthy professional hockey career, he remains plagued with injuries, pain, and other challenges. Kevin is very fortunate to have the love and support of his family and countless friends.”

Stevens, who was a professional hockey player, has earned much fame and reputation. He has won the Stanly Cup twice while playing with Pittsburgh Penguins. Stevens has also played for other reputed teams like Boston Bruins, the Los Angeles Kings, the New York Rangers, and Philadelphia Flyers. Kevin is one of only four players in NHL history to have scored more than 50 times and 200 penalty minutes with his personal record of 54 goals and 254 penalty minutes. He has had a successful career before retiring 14 years ago.
