Jonathan Rhys Meyers is busy filming Black Butterfly.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be gracing the big screen and our vision very soon with his next movie Black Butterfly. Black Butterfly is a psychological thriller remake of the French film Papillon Noir. The remake starring Meyers will be directed by Brian Goodman, written by Herve Korian and the film is adapting a new screenplay will be written by Justin Stanley and Steve Hilts.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be joined by Spanish actor Antonio Banderas as part of the star cast. In the movie, Rhys plays a drifter who is picked up a down-on-his-luck screenwriter played by Banderas and offered a place to stay. Rhys’s character later takes Banderas’ character hostage and forces him to write. Their unhinged relationship brings buried secrets to light.

Despite their rather rocky relationship in the movie, the actors share great bond off the screen. On April, during the filming of the movie, the actors were spotted having a banter with all smiley faces on the set in between takes!

Jonathan looked very much the heartthrob in a pair of slim-fitting jeans, a plain gray T-shirt, a khaki bomber jacket and a pair of leather lace-up boots for the initial scenes. Antonio, 55, sported a brown wax jacket and a black cap.

This is a film where emotions cascade as the story unfolds with twists and turns that create unrelenting drama and thrills," Lervolino, one of the financiers for the film said Thursday in a statement. "To pull it off, you need an actor with real gravitas and proven connectivity with audiences, so we feel fortunate to have Antonio step into this incredible role and do what he does best — own a role and deliver amazing performances.

Apart from Black Butterfly, Jonathan is set to star in three additional titles this year - The Rising, London Town, and Shadow.
