Joanna Gaines' husband Chip Gaines; their married life, children and family

Marriage goals!

Joanna and Chip Gaines are definitely marriage goals, aren’t they? Joanna’s a designer who is gifted when it comes to interiors and Chip is a real estate and construction professional. So if this isn’t what made for each other is, I don’t know what is. And this perfectly synced career interests of theirs is what has had made Magnolia Homes, the empire it is today.

Joanna and Chip Gaines both attended Baylor University but it wasn’t Baylor where they met. Their fateful meeting happened in a tire/auto repair shop where Chip saw Joanna’s photo behind the counter and instantly fell in love with her. Now the question here is how did Joanna’s photo end up behind the counter? The auto repair shop was a part of Joanna’s family business. As destiny had it, they had to meet. And they did!

As usual, Chip was having his brakes repaired at Joanna’s shop but it wasn’t a usual day. It was the day Joanna was working behind the counter and Voila! They fell in love.

"We met in the waiting area and hit it off immediately. He was genuinely engaging and he had such a sincere smile," she said to POPSUGAR.

"At first, I couldn't believe how kind Chip was — he had kind eyes and made me laugh a lot," she told us. "I knew he was the one because I knew I could trust him."

Couple years down the line, Chip and Joanna got married and now have four beautiful children; Drake, Ella, Duke, and Emmie. Chip and Joanna have their own renovation empire now under the name of Magnolia Homes. The couple also has a show “Upper Fixer” on HGTV which remodels homes in Texas.

The beautiful family now live in a 100-year-old farmhouse with over 60 animals living peacefully on their 40-acre farm. Out of the 60 animals the family rears, goats are Joanna’s absolute favorite.

As HGTV’s “Upper Fixer” stars, one would definitely expect them to live a lavish lifestyle even if they live in a 100-year-old farmhouse but turns out Joanna and Chip are quite modest fellows. So modest that they do not even have a TV in their home. Yup! Crazy right? In fact, what they do have is watch parties where there go to a friend’s house once a week to watch TV. Their kids have seen few episodes of their show and weren’t that interested.

But TV isn’t as fun as a treehouse, is it? The Gaines kids may not have access to television but they do have a fun tree house in their home. Who needs a TV when they have a treehouse at the reach of their hands and you get to do all the fun stuff with daddy?
