Janelle Monae's new project, 'Hidden Figures' releases promotional photos

Woodland Management has broadcast the very first picture of mathematician women who helped Astronaut John Glenn to become the first American to orbit the Earth in February 1962. The official photo has been released by the New York Times for the fox 2000 film Hidden Figures.

Janelle Monae rounds out the lead cast of Fox 2000’s NASA drama “Hidden Figures,” joining Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer as the three African American women who were involved in NASA’s Friendship 7 mission, which resulted in astronaut John Glenn become the first American to orbit the Earth in February 1962.

The Ted Melfi-directed film is based on Margot Lee Shetterly’s forthcoming book Hidden Figures: The Story of the African-American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race, due in September, according to Variety. Hidden figures will be released in 2017
