J.K. Rowling has been nominated for a crime writing award.

I guess Harry Potter is not the only book J.K.Rowling is famous for. After finishing her iconic book Harry Potter series Rowling has changed the genre to crime. Not only the genre but also her gender and her name it seems. Instead of her real name, she is using the male alias Robert Galbraith.

Rowling is one of the, if not the most influential writer of this generation. With her signature book Harry potter she has proved what she is capable of and now that she has changed the genre along with a male pseudonym we believe she can succeed in that as wee

Despite not being a real writer Robert sure is popular. Until now he has written around three crime novels The Cuckoo's Calling (2013), The Silkworm (2014) and Career of Evil (2015).

For her book The Cuckoo’s Calling Rowling… I mean Robert has won Los Angeles Times Book Prize for mysteries and thrillers. He is also recognized in the field of crime mysteries novel.

Now, she has nominated and long-listed for a crime writing award, the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year. With former winners Val McDermid and Mark Billingham together with  Renee Knight, Lisa McInerney, Ruth Ware, David Young and Clare Mackintosh along with bestseller Ann Cleeves it will surely be a competition to remember.

Despite having many famous writer contenders who are adept in writing novels to this genre, Galbraith has given them run for the money.

The judges will short-list the six title by 31st May 2016. After that, the audience will vote for their favorite author. The public vote will decide the winner. After that, the winner will be revealed on July 21st for 14th Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival.

A new Harry Potter spin-off movie has been confirmed to be released. Yay! My childhood is back on.
