Hollyoaks actress Twinnie-Lee Moore found the 'child abuse' storyline upsetting

Hollyoaks actress Twinnie-Lee Moore has revealed 'sexual abuse'  storyline has brought her to tears.

The  actress opened up about the sexual abuse she faced at the age of 15 by her mother Reenie’s boyfriend, Pete Buchanan. Her family refuse to believe the story but it is without a doubt that the storyline is having a toll in her personal life.

The actress who plays Porsche McQueen in the series, prepared for the harrowing storyline by reading the book Behind Closed Doors by Jenny Tomlin, which recounts the author’s abuse as a child.

Twinnie-Lee said: “It’s a horrific story and it really made me cry. You go through the emotions. I feel what Jenny goes through – that made it easier for me to call up the tears when I’m playing Porsche.

"I feel what Jenny goes through - that made it easier for me to call up the tears when I’m playing Porsche.

“I feel like I’ve been constantly crying for the last six weeks. I feel very drained after a heavy day. I’ve never worked harder," she sighed.

To prepare for the role, the 27 year old worked closely with the NSPCC and attended a work shop with sexual abuse victims that included children aged 11-19 where they talked about their experiences.

Speaking exclusively to Mirror Celebs on the Hollyoaks set as part of the Soap Week, the 5 feet 7 inch actress said: "I know people quite close to me who have gone through it as well. It's very interesting when you know someone and they tell you about it you kind of see a different side to them and they become kids again. They're very vulnerable and it's hard."

"It's a subject that needs to be spoken about right now because it's all over the news.

"You see it on the news and you think it's not really happening. But I think if kids see this on telly they are going to say it happened to that girl on Hollyoaks they're going to have something to relate to."

Moore was part of the original West End Cast of the Rock Musical Comedy 'Rock Of Ages' which began previews at The Shaftesbury Theatre on August 31st 2011 before opening on September 27th 2011. She played Waitress Number 1 but had to withdraw from the show after she was involved in a bike accident with then boyfriend Milner- a contestant of the Voice. She returned to the show on the 28th of March 2012 only to be released on September 2012 as a result of cast change.

Although Twinnie Lee Moore has been entertaining fans with her role as Posche McQueen, she has been struggling to remain calm off-reel. However, the actress has managed to open up to fans and has done so through various interviews and Twitter. She recently took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support and was seen happy during her recent interview in May where she spoke about everything, from how she spends around 300 euros per month for dress to telling she wouldn’t mind having a plastic surgery in coming years. Well, our best wishes are always there for her and hope she continues her tremendous performance as Porsche McQueen in the future.
