Heartbeat actor Bill Maynard died at the age of 89 and will always alive in the heart of his family and fans.
Bill Maynard born as Walter Frederick George Williams has died in hospital at the age of 89 after he broke his hip falling from his mobility scooter.
His Daughter-in-law Jacqueline Reddin confirmed he died at the hospital shortly after the mobility scooter accident.
Jacqueline said “He was larger than life and he just loved showbiz” she added, “He was so Proud of the fact that he had been working for 81 years.”
Though, he appeared in several roles in his 8 decades career span but probably best known as Claude Jeremiah Greengrass in Heartbeat. He first retired from acting in 2000 after suffering numerous strokes but returned to the TV in 2003 The Royal, Heartbeat spin-off.
Maynard was born in Surrey but lived most of his life with son and daughter including their grandchild in Leicestershire.
