George MacKay talks about his TV shows, plays, movies, and more

George MacKay talked to Independent when he was shooting for his then upcoming play Ah! The wilderness. It was originally scripted in 1933, this play was set on diverse land, and it is not easy for country boy like MacKay to be used to.  While practicing in a giant sandpit, the task is twice as hard.

Practically, the sand is not difficult to work on, But we do a tums-and-bums workout every morning together on yoga mats with the movement coach to get us physically used to the loose and uneven surfaces.”,  says MacKay.

Excited about his part, MacKay really knows how to improvise the roles in the movies. "It's about the stories that I want to tell. If Hollywood beckons - then that is what I will hopefully base my decisions on before I take a part."

As hard it was to be working on something that is new, George was twice as excited. The talk went on and he started getting nostalgic about his acting career.

George talked about when he first performed in any movie. Although he was always fascinated by acting and performances, the year 2003 was his first break in to the film industry. His role was that of Curly in the movie Peter Pan.

"We were a group of 10-to-14-year-olds being taught how to sword-fight, on a make-believe pirate ship in a studio. A whole soundstage was filled with make-believe forests. It was truly amazing. It was then I realized I would like to act some more”.

While filming for his next movie How I Live Now (2013), he fell in love with his co-star Saoirse Ronan. They have been dating ever since. For his performance in this movie George was awarded with British Breakthrough Award by Richard Attenborough Film Awards and nominated for many others.

Born to act, George MacKay has shown time and again that he is a perfect man for the job. In the 2016 movie, Captain Fantastic starring Viggo Mortensen, we saw George playing the role of Bodevan and he did not disappoint.

George has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows. Just 24, and he has already paved his way to success with his remarkable talent and flawless performance. Some of his noteworthy acting credits include Sunshine on Leith (2013), For Those in Peril (2013), Pride (2014), etc.
For his remarkable performance in For Those In Peril, George was awarded the best actor by Scottish BAFTA.

Regarding his looks, he stands rather tall at height of 1.83m and looks really handsome and dashing. His wavy hair adds further to his appearance.
George is just 24, he has not yet been married but he may be looking at Saoirse as his potential wife. There are no rumors or information about his other girlfriends prior to her.

His net worth has not yet been revealed but considering his performance it must be in around a million dollars.
