Los Angeles Times reports of the match as “By dealing Wade (18-1) his first defeat, stopping him with 23 seconds left in the second round, Golovkin posted his 22nd consecutive knockout and won his 16th straight WBA title fight — four shy of former middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins' record.”

"His power is real," Wade said. "It was more than I even expected. I was trying to get comfortable in there. Once he hits you, it makes it very difficult to get comfortable. I could have done one or two things a little differently in there, but he's a great champion, and he has everything you need to be a champion."

"I'm here now, and I'm here to stay." Exclaimed Golovkin, the winner.

"I feel great. I'm here now, and I'm here to stay. I'm not going anywhere. Give me my belt, give me my belt! Let's fight," said the victorious Golovkin, directing his comments towards Alvarez who’s all ready to have a face-off with Khan next month. If Alvarez is successful in defeating Khan, he is ought to face Golovkin next or he’s to be stripped since the two camps have already made a deal with the WBC.
