Gary Player will not be attending the Olympics this year.

Alas! Gary Player will not be attending the Olympics this year. Now this upsets the golf game.

The talented South African golf player Gary says he is "sad and disappointed" because of the unavailability of two of his country’s biggest stars for the Rio Olympics. He says the decision "hurt the game of golf" as reported by Stuff.

True very true! The game would be sour without the stars. "Players withdrawing hurt the game of golf," Player said. That was really heartbreaking.

But again great Gary Player would choose to go to the Olympics if he had the chance. We hope he gets the chance soon and we get to see him.

"I was sorry to hear that Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel have withdrawn their names from consideration," nine-time major winner Player said.

Also, he said, "Golf is one of the most popular sports in the world and our best players should be showcased on the biggest stage in sports,"

"Luckily, we will still have four more years to make sure the best players see the importance and commit to play in Tokyo, Japan."
