Footballer Matteo Darmian traded from current team Torino to Manchester United for £12.7 million, earning weekly salary of £30,000

Manchester United just closed a £12.7 million deal with Serie A club Torino for Italy international right-back Matteo Darmian.

The 25-year-old player promisingly emerged as a versatile player for his current national team, Italy in the last World Cup. He is an excellent full-back. He can also be an excellent central fielder. He displays some excellent defense work.

Europe and United have had their eyes on the promising full-back ever since he showed his excellent skills in the last World Cup. The Red Devils are keen on closing the deal before the team heads to their two-and-half week pre-season US tour. The games will be held in Seattle, San Hose, Chicago and San Francisco. The team will commence to the games this Monday.

Urban Cairo, the president of Torino, also wishes to seal the deal about Matteo's future before the team heads to the pre-season on Sunday. “Everyone who comes to the pre-season training camp will remain with us for the rest of the season,” he told La Stampa.

“Sunday will be the deadline. Three offers have arrived for Darmian, but out of respect for the clubs who have made them, I won’t reveal who they are. Darmian is an extraordinary player who will want to try and win the Champions League one day,” he added.

With this pace, he sure will. Someday, he’ll make his parents even more proud!!

In the last World Cup, Darmian, age 25, started all of Italy’s group matches. He proved himself to be an exceptional right-back to the team. He has won 13 caps for his country. He has also proved himself as a centre-back. However, the right-side of the rearguard is where he perfectly fits in.

Last season, United triggered issues with Rafael De Silva, the most experienced right-back of the club, being surplus for their needs. In Van Gaal’s opinion, the player’s height seemed to be an issue for the team. In the last season, he said, 'In set plays, it is very difficult but that is because of the height of the team - maybe you can advise me to buy tall players.' Darmian, standing tall at the height of 6ft and with a body weight of 70 kgs, he perfectly fits the decription, physically.

Louis Van Gaal has been keen on recruiting a right back before the new season for quite a while. The Red Devils had been told that they had to fork out £13million for the right-back. The amount excluded £1.4m which would add as bonus. However, after quite a bargain, the club was able to secure the prized right-back for £12.7 million. They have signed a long-term deal and offer the defender a salary of £30,000 on a weekly basis. After his dinner with his girlfriend, the player headed to Golden Palace Hotel to close the deal.
