Five interesting facts about Jaggi Vasudev

An Indian yogi and mystic, Jaggi Vasudev is the founder of Isha Foundation-a non-profit organization which offers Yoga program around the world.

Besides being an Indian yogi, he is also an author who has written more than 30 books. In 2016, he was a New York Times bestseller for Inner Engineering:  A Yogi's Guide to Joy. So today let's just know five interesting facts about the Indian yogi and mystic, Jaggi Vasudev right below:

Five interesting facts about Jaggi Vasudev

Jaggi Vasudev was born on September 3, 1957, in Mysore, Karnataka, India. At the age of 12, he learned a set of simple yoga asana through Malladihalli Sri Raghavendra Swamiji. He completed his graduation from the University of Mysore with a bachelor's degree in English literature. At the age of 25, he claimed that he had a spiritual experience.

Jaggi Vasudev- Enlightened

Sadhguru Jaggi is included in the list of the living enlightened spiritual masters. In one of his lecture, he shared his enlightenment experience. He explained that he rode up Chamundi Hill located in Mysore City, Bangalore and stayed in front of a huge rock and sat there with his eyes open.

After few minutes he experienced an unusual feeling, and the feeling was beyond his imagination. At the moment, he thought it was not him but someone else inside him. This is how he got enlightened and became Sadhguru.

Jaggi Vasudev- Established Isha Foundation

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev handed his business to his friend and traveled extensively with an objective of gaining his mystical experience.

He conducted various programs and established Isha Yoga Center, a non-profit organization, run by over 5 million volunteers. The main motto of the organization is "The silent realization for Self- realization."

Jaggi Vasudev- Found of Adventures and Bike riding

During his young age, Vasudev had a great interest in adventures and riding bikes. He traveled across India on a motorcycle with his friends. He and his friends went to Chamundi Hill, the same place where he was later enlightened.

Jaggi Vasudev- Awarded The Highest Civilian Honor

In the year 2017, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was awarded Padma Vibushan Padak which means The Highest civilian award by the Indian Government. He was also awarded the Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar by the Government of India in 2012.

Jaggi Vasudev- The New York Best-Selling Author

Besides being a Sadhguru, Jaggi Vasudev is also a renowned author and has written several books in English, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. The New York Best-Selling book Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy was written by him. Washington posted: "This Book is one of the memory books of the year."
