With a great passion for working as a reporter, she moved to West Virginia for her first reporting job. After working there, she said-

"I was a one-man-band carrying a camera and a tripod and that was God-awful. But I loved it because I wanted to do it. I always wanted to be a reporter."

Cari Champion Career

Before joining WPTV- TV in Florida in 2002, she has worked as a reporter at the Orange County Newschannel in Santa Ana, California.

Facing ups and downs in the career, she was fired while working in WGCL-TV in Atlanta as a news anchor for emitting a bad language on air. Though she was rehired in 2008, she left the job within a short period of time for another broadcasting job in Florida.

Life is not always as cool as taking walk in a park, people need to go through fire and rain to achieve goals and get refined at their tasks, and Champion is one of those examples.

At Florida, she covered the human interest stories and destructive hurricanes in the state. And after covering the tennis players like Serena Williams and Venus, her interest towards covering the news of tennis increased.

She auditioned for a tennis news channel and got selected along with three ladies among 50 candidates. Then, she started working as a courtside reporter and anchored the Court Report news segment of the channel.
