Electro-house DJ and producer Morgan Page ready to groove everyone his sixth album, “DC to Light

Grammy-nominated American DJ and music producer Morgan Page has launched his sixth album, ‘DC to Light’. Page revealed his latest album was recorded using electricity harnessed by the solar panels at his home studio, and seems he drew the inspiration from the solar power to name his album, “DC to Light.”

The 34 year old electric house DJ is best known for ‘The longest road’ and his previous albums have been topped the charts.

He is currently dating Kat Von D and his girlfriend is a tattoo artist. Von D rose  to fame with her TLC reality television show LA Ink, which premiered August 7, 2007, in the United States and ran for four seasons where she worked as a tattoo artist.

A workaholic, Page’s life changed and complicated his work. He got a girlfriend and improved his personal life. “This new domestic life I have gets in the way of working all the time”, says Page, who performs Saturday at club Surrender. “I hang out with my girlfriend and give her attention.” Although he was already Grammy Nominated DJ-producer who remixed hits, he still made time for him and his sweetheart. “We just finished putting solar panels on the roof — solar panels that are powering the studio, and the Tesla, and the house,” he says. And he and his girlfriend just wrapped up a “Homeland”-viewing marathon (the Showtime series).  Page admitted he was having difficulties maintaining time for his DJ career and his domestic and personal life.  “So I try to stretch the day as much as I can,” Page says. “I wake up at 6:30 (a.m.), or 7:30, and try to stay awake as long as possible.”

Page’s music, harmonic and trancey sounds, big riffs and extended track length, a prominent baseline or a kick drum with tempos ranging from 125 to 135 beats per minutes. His music consists of bits and pieces of many genres and he said, “I like to borrow a lot from different genres. I get tired of the same old sound. It's funny, there's always the hot sound of the moment. I try to be really inspired by music I don't like in addition to music that I do. It makes you really motivated to want to top that, like "I can do better than this." On "The Longest Road" I think there were slide guitars which gave it that feel of a country influence, but just because it has the guitar doesn't mean it's necessarily country... I also typically choose vocalists that I want to work with that don't sound like your typical pretty dance vocalist, so the lyrical content and timbre of the voice is different and I try to surround them with instruments that make sense.”Page and his music are well decorated. Seven different nominations for seven different songs and one title. Page’s ‘In the air’ bagged Best Dance/Electronica Album awards in year 2012.  His The Longest Road" (Deadmau5 Remix) by Morgan Page featuring Lissie was nominated for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical in 2009. In 2011, "Fantasy" (Morgan Page Remix) by Nadia Ali was nominated for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical, again. His ‘fight for you’ and ‘In The Air’ for the best progressive track in 2010 and 2012 respectively. Other nominations include Best Breakthrough Artist, Best Progressive House/Trance Track and best American DJ.
