Does Mad Max star Melissa Jaffer, age 79, regret never getting married?

Most actresses in their 80s are already grandmothers by now. But Melissa Jaffer, who played the role of ‘Keeper of the Seed’ in 2015 blockbuster ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, has not yet even been married. Not even once! The actress, in her recent media interaction, revealed that not getting married was one of the best decisions she has made in her life.

“Single life is amazing. I can do what I want, when I want. I don’t have to ask anybody’s permission to do what I love. I think that’s the way life should be lived”, she said. She added, “I don’t understand how people can spend all of their life with a single person. I personally could never do that.”

She also made it clear that she has no plans of marrying somebody in the future. She reportedly said to our sources, “I spent my entire youth without a husband. I don't need to get married now just to have a divorce . “

Jeffer still lives her life to the fullest. She regularly attends parties and social events. She throws parties for her friends in her beach house.  She also believes that she would not have been able to that if she was married to somebody.

There are plenty of unconfirmed suggestions about why the actress has remained unmarried. There were rumors that the actress was having an affair with ‘Caddie’ co-star Jack Thompson during the 70s. But he married Leona King. Thus, Jaffer lost her love and has never gotten over her heartbreak.

There are also claims that the actress remaining unmarried has something to do with her sexuality. It is reported that she is a lesbian. Society was not as open to gay people as it is now. This made the actress have a love life in secret, and she has been keeping it a secret ever since.

Jaffer has acted in several Australian TV series. She is famous among international audiences for her role in Sci-Fi series Farscape as ‘Utu-Noranti Pralatong’, a ageing mystic. She has also made appearance in shows like ‘The Nargun and the Stars’ and ‘Cheek to Cheek’. Jaffer tied for the first AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in ‘Caddie’ in 1976.

Jaffer isn’t active in social media platforms. She doesn’t have any Instagram or Twitter account. This has made it difficult for her fans to keep up with the latest happening in her life. Her fans hope that the actress creates an account in any of major internet social networks to communicate with them.

There are rumors that the actress is the owner of a house that costs more than $3 million dollars in Southern Australia. Her net worth however remains undisclosed.
