Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi has a new companion.

Fans would be excited to know that Doctor Who has found out his companion Pearl Mackie, who is the newcomer in the show as Bill. Peter Capaldi has been playing the title role in the BBC One science-fiction series Doctor Who.

As the doctors in the series usually gains new companions after losing the old ones, Doctor Who has got Pearl Mackie as his new companion who is replacing Jenna Coleman, who left the role of Carla Oswald last year.

The news was announced during half-time of the FA Cup semi-final match between Everton and Manchester United on BBC One on Saturday night.

Mickey was revealed through a short filmed footage entitled “Friend From The Future”.

Mickey seems equally glad to join the series as she stated-

“I'm incredibly excited to be joining the Doctor Who family. It’s such an extraordinary British institution, I couldn't be prouder to call the TARDIS my home! Peter is such a brilliant actor, and his Doctor is such a wacky and wonderful character. I can't wait to see what adventures are in store for him and Bill throughout time and space.”

Mackie shared her excitement on twitter too.

I'm so excited to be the next companion on Doctor Who! Can't wait to join the family! Thank you for all the lovely messages!

People would get ecstatic to know that Mackie shares her hairstyle with the midfielder, Marouane Fellaini of Manchester United, the only goal scorer in the match at the half-time.

In an interview with Brazilian website Omelete, Capaldi revealed that new companion Mackie would be very different than Clara, the old one. He said-

“Clara had prior knowledge of the Doctor. It was conceived as a human connected to your timeline, and so had access to the cosmic nature of the Doctor. She understood a little about how he was. And as she was already with Matt (Smith), she knew the Daleks and the TARDIS. Now we have someone who knows very little about the Doctor.”
