The Miami hospital has announced in a statement on Friday that fourth-year neurology resident Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon would be terminated and she would be entitled to an appeal process.

Dr. Ramkissoon had previously been placed on administrative leave and removed from all clinical duties during the internal investigation regarding the matter.

It all started when Ramkissoon got into an Uber vehicle without a reservation and refused to get out of the car.

The driver, Igot Belic, said that she was not his customer but demanded a ride.

The confrontation between Ramkissoon and Belic got viral from the video posted on YouTube.

The fourth-year resident is seen in the video hitting and kicking the driver. The video also shows her throwing papers and a cell phone out of his car. She also tried to knee the driver as he asked the witnesses to call 911.

Even after she was pushed to the ground, she got up and jumped into the passenger seat of the Uber car.

After several minutes, Ramkissoon eventually got off and walked away.

However, the Uber driver declined to press charges even when cops were called.

In an interview with Good Morning America, Ramkissoon apologized and acknowledged there was absolutely no excuse for her actions.

Ramkissoon called the incident ‘the biggest mistake of her life’.

She admitted that she had been drinking that evening and was having a bad day. On that day, her father was admitted to the hospital and her boyfriend of 2 years also broke up with her.

“There is absolutely no excuse for my actions. I am ashamed. I am so sorry. I’ve hurt so many people with this,” she told.
