David Denman starring in Michael Bay's upcoming directorial venture,'13 hours:The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi' Denman to portray role of 'Boon' in the film

Michael Bay’s new movie, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is set to star The Office alum David Denman. Bay already cast another actor, John Krasinski in the same film.  The upcoming action thriller film will also star English actor Toby Stephens, American actor James Badge Dale and Orange is The New Black star, Pablo Schreiber.

Denman and Krasinski were both actors in the hit NBC sitcom, The Office. Both the actors played love interests of Jenna Fischer’s character, Pam Beesly. While Krasinski’s character, Jim Halpert eventually ends up being married to Pam, Denman’s character, Roy Anderson is Pam’s ex- fiancé.

In the upcoming Bay movie, Denman will play the role of Boon, while Krasinski’s character is still unknown. The movie is based on the non-fiction book 13 Hours, written by American Author Mitchell Zuckoff and is about the Battle of Benghazi.

Paramount Pictures acquired the rights to the movie in 2014. It was announced that Chuck Hogan would adapt the screenplay. In October, the same year, it was announced that Michael Bay would direct the movie.

Filming began on April 27, 2015 in Morocco and Malta. The movie was previously named “13 Hours” but on June 30, 2015 Paramount Pictures announced the new title to be 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. The movie is set to release on January 16, 2016.

Denman’s character, Boon will be an “elite sniper.” Denman, who primarily appears in TV shows, has also tried his hand at movies. However, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is expected to be a big leap for his career.

While, Denman is doing great professionally, on personal front, he is enjoying his marital life. The actor married to Swedish-American actress Mercedes Mahson. He exchanged vows with Mahson after dating for some years.  Masohn is perhaps most known for her role as Deputy U.S. Marshal Isabel Zambada in the short-lived Fox procedural Drama, The Finder. She is set to play Ofelia in the upcoming AMC horror drama, Fear the Walking Dead.

Denman was previously married Actress and singer, Nikki Boyer in 2001, however they got divorced in 2010.

Denman had a recurring role in the NBC drama, Parenthood. Additionally, Denman has also guest starred in some big name TV shows like How to Get Away with Murder, Grey’s Anatomy, Bones and CSI: Miami.

Denman was born David Joseph Lamb in Newport Beach, California. He attended Fountain Valley High school and later, Juilliard School of Arts, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. His classmates include actors like Sara Ramirez and Alan Tudyk.

Denman currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Masohn and her dog, Wedgie and his current net worth is estimated to be $3 million. Earlier this year, the 6 feet 3 inches tall actor was ranked no.1 in People with Money’s highest paid actors list.
